FOR EARLY-STAGE BEAUTY FOUNDERS
Build Your Product Brief
on a Foundation of Evidence,
Not Assumptions
A 6-week cohort program that takes beauty founders from raw idea to completed, investor-ready Product Brief — built on validated brand positioning, competitive intelligence, and manufacturing reality.
Sound Familiar?
You have a beauty product idea.
But you're stuck.
You've been researching ingredients and manufacturers for months, but you don't know if you're making the right choices — or in the right order.
You've seen other founders launch successfully and wonder what they knew that you don't. The process feels opaque and overwhelming.
You've started a product brief or business plan, but it's based on assumptions rather than validated research. You're not confident it would hold up in front of a manufacturer or investor.
You're making branding decisions, formulation decisions, and pricing decisions all at once — with no framework for which should come first.
You're building alone. No cohort, no accountability, no one to pressure-test your ideas against.
The Founder Advisory Circle exists to close that gap — systematically, in community, with expert guidance at every step.
This program is built for you if…
You're in the early stages
You have an idea, a concept, or an early formulation — but you haven't launched yet and you want to build the strategic foundation before you invest heavily.
You're building in beauty or personal care
Skincare, haircare, body care, color cosmetics, fragrance, wellness — the curriculum is designed for founders developing consumer beauty products.
You want structure, not just information
You don't need another blog post or YouTube video. You need a step-by-step process with accountability, feedback, and real deliverables.
You value peer community
You learn best alongside other founders who are navigating the same challenges. The cohort model is core to the experience.
This program is probably not for you if…
You've already launched and are looking for growth/scaling strategy
You want a self-paced, pre-recorded course you can binge in a weekend
You're looking for social media marketing or influencer strategy — this is product strategy
You're not willing to do the homework. Each week builds on the last. If you skip the work, you fall behind.
The Approach
Product Brief Last, Not First
Most programs ask you to write a product brief on day one. Ours is designed so you write it on week five — after you've validated your brand identity, mapped your competitive landscape, built an ingredient strategy, and evaluated your manufacturing options. The result is a brief built on evidence, not guesses.
The Curriculum
6 weeks. 4 curriculum sessions.
Every week builds on the last.
Bookended by individualized 1-on-1 sessions. The four core weeks follow a deliberate sequence — brand first, then research, then operations, then synthesis.
Founder Interviews & Onboarding
1-on-1 Session
We start with you. A structured discovery interview surfaces your brand vision, current stage, and biggest challenges. You'll receive your complete toolkit, get paired with an accountability partner, and establish your baseline Brand Readiness score — the benchmark against which we'll measure your growth.
You'll leave with a clear-eyed baseline of where you are, a partner who's invested in your success, and a roadmap for the 4 curriculum weeks ahead.
Brand Foundation & Readiness Baseline
Group Session · 2 Hours
Before you can research competitors or choose ingredients, you need to know who you are. This session builds your strategic identity: brand positioning, voice, visual direction, and storytelling. You'll craft your positioning statement, define your brand voice, and develop the three stories every beauty brand needs — founder, origin, and consumer transformation.
You'll leave with a positioning statement, brand voice guide, 60-second brand story, and a gap map showing exactly which upcoming sessions address your biggest weaknesses.
Competitive Research & Ingredient Strategy
Group Session · 2 Hours
Now that you know who you are, study who else is out there. This session connects competitive research directly to ingredient choices — because what your competitors use (and what they don't) should inform what goes in your bottle. You'll analyze 5–10 competitors, build a positioning matrix, mine consumer reviews for real language and pain points, and develop a hero ingredient strategy grounded in competitive white space.
You'll leave with a competitive landscape map, a 2×2 positioning matrix with your white space identified, a complete ingredient strategy, and consumer insights pulled from real reviews.
Manufacturing, Testing & Vendor Validation
Group Session · 2 Hours
Your ingredient strategy meets operational reality. Learn to evaluate contract manufacturers, understand the formula prototyping process, navigate safety testing and claims substantiation, and audit your product claims for FDA compliance. You'll score vendors using a weighted evaluation matrix and build a testing strategy with realistic timelines and budgets.
You'll leave with a scored Vendor Evaluation Matrix, a completed Testing Strategy Tracker, FDA-audited claims, and the knowledge to manage a manufacturer relationship with confidence.
Product Brief Capstone
Group Session · 2 Hours
Everything converges. The Product Brief is not a form you fill out cold — it's the synthesis of four weeks of validated work. Every section is informed by your brand positioning, competitive research, ingredient strategy, and manufacturing intelligence. You'll complete the brief, present it to the cohort, receive structured peer feedback, and build a master timeline and 30-60-90 day action plan.
You'll leave with a completed, peer-reviewed Product Brief — a professional document strong enough to hand to a manufacturer, investor, or retail buyer.
Exit Interviews & Personalized Next Steps
1-on-1 Session
We end where we started: with you. Your facilitator reviews your completed Product Brief, compares your Week 1 and Week 5 readiness scores to quantify your growth, and provides personalized recommendations — specific vendors, funding sources, mentors, and industry connections matched to your brand's stage and needs.
You'll leave with expert feedback on your brief, a readiness growth visualization, a refined action plan with specific resources attached, and warm introductions to the people and partners you need next.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Early stage. Whether you have just an idea, a formulation in progress, or a prototype ready to go, this program meets you where you are. The curriculum is designed to build foundational knowledge that applies regardless of your starting point.
Not at all — in fact, that's ideal. The program is structured so that brand identity and competitive research come before formulation decisions. You'll make smarter ingredient and manufacturing choices because you did the strategic work first.
Plan for 2 hours of session time plus 2–3 hours of homework. The homework is not busywork — it produces real business assets (your positioning statement, competitive analysis, vendor evaluations, and ultimately your Product Brief).
8–12 founders per cohort. Small enough for meaningful individual attention and peer feedback, large enough for diverse perspectives and rich group discussion.
We strongly recommend attending live — the peer interaction and facilitator coaching are core to the experience. If you must miss a session, you'll receive a recorded summary and condensed homework guide within 24 hours.
It's the strategic blueprint for your product — covering your target consumer, positioning, ingredient strategy, competitive landscape, claims, manufacturing plan, and go-to-market timeline. Think of it as the document you'd hand to a contract manufacturer, an investor, or a retail buyer to say: here's exactly what I'm building and why.
Neither exclusively. This is about building the strategic foundation that sits underneath both. Brand positioning informs your marketing. Ingredient strategy and vendor selection inform your product development. The Product Brief ties them together.
